The airbrush was out yesterday on various models, which gave me the chance to put the final touch on a new building in our Research Base range. I used another of the Anarchy Models stencils to add some warning letters to the main door of this large garage block as a last flourish – which means we can finally add it to the Salute list. It fits in nicely with the rest of the Research Base buildings, but allows you to park something a bit bigger than the existing small garage block.
Today was a rather glorious one weather-wise – the sun was shining but it wasn’t too hot, ideal for sitting out with paint and brushes putting colour on some more new models.
Next up in our Salute preview series are some new 6mm items. The first is a set of Yenpalo infantry, expertly scaled down by the original sculptor Martin Baker. The pack contains 24 figures making up four 6-man (or 6-alien ?) fireteams, each of a squad leader, three riflemen (riflealiens ?), a support weapon and a missile launcher.
To support these we have a brand new heavy grav tank model which is so fresh out of the mould that we don’t yet have a name for it. It sports a heavy mass driver cannon in an unmanned turret plus four swivel railguns in twin cheek mounts on the hull.
We’ve also created a pack which makes up a small Yenpalo force, ideal for a ruleset such as Horizon Wars. Yenpalo do things in sixes, so the pack contains six grav tanks and 36 infantry.
We try to have a spread of new releases across as many ranges as possible for Salute, and today we’re showing off two new 10mm SF buildings that we’ll have available on the day. They are small towers from the Desert Domes which have been scaled down from the 15mm range (or up from the 6mm range, depending on how you want to look at it).

It’s been longer than planned (mainly due to delays getting things painted), but it’s time to unveil the next of our Salute releases for this year. It’s based on the hull of our recently released 15mm Vombat tank, but features a new turret fitted with four missile tubes and two tri-barrel gatlings as the ultimate urban combat vehicle – and of course it still has the infantry compartment carrying four elite Neo-Soviet Guards. The inspiration for this is the real-life Russian BMPT armoured fighting vehicle, nicknamed the ‘Terminator’ – so we borrowed this moniker as well, resulting in the Vombat Terminator. It’ll be available singly or in a platoon pack of three vehicles with 12 Guards infantry.
A couple of weeks ago we released our new 6mm PacFed models – or at least we thought we did. It turns out that we missed one, accidentally leaving out the Angelshark VTOL from the list of new models.
So today we’ve rectified that oversight and added it to the website alongside the rest of the range. There are in fact two versions of the Angelshark, the original one and a new one with gatlings in the wing pods in place of the missile launchers – although admittedly at this scale you have to look quite closely to spot the difference between them.
