Lucky finds...

I just ordered 6 of these in "our scale."

The company doesn't have any more in stock, but they might eventually.

I will, however, offer to send one to Brigade if they think the likelihood of producing something similar is high. This could just as easily have been a post in the LI section.

And in news related to my most recent "Aeronef Resources" post, I just purchased a reproduction copy of the USN Bluejacket's Manual from 1917. This is, for those who don't know, a fairly comprehensive handbook for Naval personnel and has been on my hunt-list for decades.

wow! I have my Dad's old USCG service days one (1940 on the front although I think he enlisted in 1944 or very late 1943.) Also found his poetry (!?? My Dad?? Wrote poetry?) and only some of it was expressing his dislike for the banalities of service life (watches, Light house duty, watches, convoy cutter work, watches, paint chipping - which combined with an incompetent corpsman cost him vision beyond light/dark in one eye.)

Gracias,

Glenn

I will definitely try to post something soon. An off-season 'Spring cleaning' has happened and reshuffled the model priorities.
