Tony, what o you think about these stats for Brigade LI

LI rulebook tells that we should use full gun dice for front and rear side firing for Land Ironclads units and half gun dice for broadside fire. I agree with it for Yelizaveta Ironclad (powerful gun at frnt, small guns at sides).

But for example Australian Cerberus class Monitor can fire 2 guns to for broadside firing and 1 gun for front/rear firing.

Olympians can fire full gun dice backwards at all:

So i have an idea to modify stats for Brigade designs

My ideas:
Russian Empire/////////////

Image
Yelizaveta Ironclad
front firing: full gun dice
broadside firing: half gun dice
rear firing: cant fire
(Yelizaveta front gun is not very good for broadside firing, because their rotation angle is limited)

Image
Ivan Grozny Ironclad
front firing: half gun dice
broadside firing: full gun dice
rear firing: cant fire

Image
Yekaterina Ironclad
front firing: half gun dice
broadside firing: full gun dice
rear firing: cant fire

Image
Pyotr Ironclad
front firing: half gun dice
broadside firing: full gun dice
rear firing: half gun dice

Image
Alexsandr Ironclad
front firing: half gun dice
broadside firing: full gun dice
rear firing: half gun dice

(Most of russians LI have more guns for broadside that for fron firing. Some of them dont have rear huns at all. Yelisaveta's front gun cant fire broadside but it is more powerfull that its small broadside guns)

Australian Cerberus class Monitor

broadside firing: full gun dice
rear firing: half gun dice

Image
General class Command Ironclad
front firing: half gun dice
broadside firing: full gun dice
rear firing: half gun dice

Image
Brunel Tractor class Ironclad

rear firing: full gun dice
(Brunel Tractor class Ironclad is not very good for broadside firing, because their rotation angle is limited)

All very interesting, but I don't think I'd ever make it more than an optional rule. Simplicity os the key to the Nef / LI rules family, somtimes you just have to accept the occasional anomoly.

WG VSF: Re: New stats addition for Brigade Model Ironclad to make game more realistic!!!

OK. If it too overcomplicated maybe it is possible to make an optional rules
only for these guys:
Image
Tripod Walker
front firing: full gun dice
broadside firing: half gun dice
rear firing: cant fire

Image
Quadruped Walker with Black Gas Projector
front firing: full gun dice
broadside firing: half gun dice
rear firing: cant fire

Image
Catcher Walker
front firing: full gun dice
broadside firing: half gun dice
rear firing: cant fire

Image
Australian Cerberus class Monitor
front firing: half gun dice
broadside firing: full gun dice
rear firing: half gun dice

Why? Because it will be more realistic for Olimpians not to fire backward. And
it will be good if Carberus will fire like aeronef (full gun to broadside and
half hun to fromnt and rear). For other LI is ok.

I agree that optional rule for ALL LI will brake simplicity, but adding optional
rules only for some of them wont be too bad. For example rule for Airial Battery
in Aeronef and Monitors, L'Epee class Commerce Raider), Spar Torpedoes.

A small number of exceptions is OK. The Cerberus certainly makes sense to fire Nef-like broadsides.

Not sure what Steve and Matt will make of the change to the Olympians and whether or not that will affect game balance / points values.
