just a few questions

Postby witchfire » Thu Mar 10, 2011 4:17 pm

greetings !!!

new guy here with some questions about Celtos.

1-are the army lists in the rulebook complete?
(ie does it have the stas/rules for all the minis sold for the game)

2- is it a file and rank game like warhammer fantasy is more
skimish style "squads"

3-does it need special templates & do they comme with the
starter set ?

Hi and welcome to the show.

1. Yes, you'll get armylists for all five races - however, not all units in the armylists have Celtos-models ready to play.

2. Can't comment on Warhammer, but you get squads of grunts (Spearmen, Bowmen, Cavalry etc.) led by heroes and wizards. Without knowing much about WHFB, I'd say, Celtos games tend to be a bit smaller.

3. A few spells use templates. You can copy them out of the rulebook.

I hope, this helps.

.

what i meant by rank & file is squads are big block of minis stacked one next
to the other in rows & the squad move as a big block (kinda like a roman testudo)
while other games have smaller squads of minis who dont absolutely have to
be base to base (4" from the squad leader usualy)

while your warriors do have to have base contact, they don't have to be ranked side by side. the round bases give them a bit more freedom to snake around however you choose, within their movement range. the units in Celtos tend to be a bit smaller than whfb, with the average unit being between 4 to 12 minis max. hope that answered your question.
