But Erck, the only one of those vehicles designed and built in Sweden is the S tank, the upgrdes of the Cent follow the British practice, just given Swedish designations. Same with the Swiss.

Which reminds me, Lynx is ok, Thor less so. :shock:
But then we do alliterate on Tor, with Viggen.
It can either be a water-bird, or thunder-bolt. :o

I'm not sure about a GEV for Sweden. How would it work with deep snow and marsh? Anyone knows the "foot print" of an armoured (ie heavy) GEV? Reading about Hammer's Slammers it seem as if the ground effect can dig down in porous "ground" (like water) and give no stability?

Things like Lynx, Fox, Wolverine, Wolf and Bear are all indigenous to Scandinavia. But not sure about such nick-names, it's more like Strv 103 etc.

Apart from all that - specific Scandinavian (magnanimous today, are n't I?) would be really nice. 8)
And if we dispense with possible problems of GEV - both a specific "S" and strf 90 (armed and armoured APC) sound splendid.
And of course a STOL! (Short take off and landing.)

- That's right, they use them blasted roads. Five hundred meter ordinary road and they got an air flotilla!

I agree with Erik.

I feel that there should be more conventional armor, especially for Scandinavia...and for folks lower on the tek tree like the Middle East, South America, etcetera. Hover armor is good for Hammer's Slammers, but I think that even in the future (and IC isn't that far into the future, not really) most folks will still stick with what works--treads, wheels, boots.

I mean, think about it: the Russians still clatter around on treads, and much of their home turf is positively made for ground-effect armor. Hmm, Mr. Tony--I wonder just how hard it would be to sculpt up an optional hover-skirt that would fit the various NeoSov chassis...?

As far as a "G-Tank", well, we already have the German's assault gun. I'd say that effectively fits the bill. Looks damn good with EuroFed Legion wheels or balsa-wood tracks, too.

Hmm ... sabot hoverskirt to fit the Russians ... it would be easy for the larger vehicles (Bizon etc) that have seperate track units. I'll have a think - although the Brigade production queue is so long right now that it will take an age to get it into production !

Hm... I think the problem is that a GEV issue as much pressure as it weighs. An armoured tank weighs lots more than a civilian transport. Lots more.
And all that weight must be countered. In water and snow that will probably mean forceful dis-placement as it wont pack into surrounding material as on dirt.
Spring taw is another thing completely, and GEV would work perfectly there, as the ground in that case is the ice-frozen dirt. Or packable zero degree snow.

Bottomline for GEV is that it takes some thought (or a Russian military) to figure it out.
Yeah, the Russians have both military hoovercraft and high speed ground effect vehicles (High speed as in 500 kpm! Only usable on water thou.)
Interesting to know if they also have heavy armour... :shock:

Sweden is high tech for sure. 8)
Might be high enough to give them a smaller army with actual anti-grav.

There's also what I believe being the problem with GEV, stabilizing "grouping effects". J39 Gripen is inherently a-stable. This is countered with micro-processor work. The same technology might work for GEV. In that case I would be all for GEV. High tech GEV even. :idea:

And as for reading Hammer's Slammers, here you go - !
