I'm glad to see you guys are getting Squadron Commander up and running again. We used to spend many hours playing. I'm looking forward to playing the updated version.
As far as the question, What ever happened to Fleet Commander?, I just couldn't get the fleet level system that I wanted. I went through many attempts, but without a group dedicated to working on it, it was just too big of a project. Mostly, real life tends to interfere, and I've realized that there are many good fleet games already. I have since discovered Starmada, B5 Call to Arms, and Federation Commander. |

Not yet ... but we're getting there. We've discovered how much effort goes into a producing a set of rules !
The scheduled release date is January 2011 - there are 8 new models lined up for the initial release with 8 more to follow soon after, and then others throughout the year. Almost all of the initial 16 have been sculpted and most of the first batch of production moulds have already been made, so we're a lot more confident we'll hit this.
The rulebook is likely to be released as a PDF, although it would be nice to have a paper copy available too, that'll depend on printing costs and if we can get it done economically. |
