Club AGM, 2007
A well attended AGM with some members attending the meeting just in time for the start of the meeting.
All club officers were re-elected whole heartedly (no one willing to take over a mug's job). I would like to thank the other officers for the work they do all year especially Tony for our web site and Mark for looking after our finances.
Chairman - Trevor Pearless
Secretary - Brian Simons
Treasurer - Mark Harris
WebMaster - Tony Francis
Game & Interest Co-ordinator - Paul Lymath
This year was a very successful year. Paul Lymath came 1st at the World Championships held in Derby in October, with the team also coming 1st. See below for the top 6. This is the highest position that the chairman has finished since 1992. We started playing the rules called Challenger but now use a set free on the internet called BGMR · BATTLEGROUP - Modern Wargaming
|2nd||Ian McBriar||Thin Red Line||494|
|3rd||Matt Biggs||Thin Red Line||452|
|5th||Nick Overland||Abingdon 1||417|
The Falklands 1982 game was nominated for the best participation game at SELWG 2006. You can read a full report on this written by Andy within this site. It went well at the other shows that we took it to and I would like to thank members who abandoned partners and family to run these games at shows.
Due to increased costs of hiring the hall membership fees have been put up to £35.00. £20.00 to be paid now and the remainder due to be paid in July. It helps if members can pay in full in January because it stops Mark from pestering you in July
Keep checking the club site for advanced notice of forthcoming games. If you want to put on a game please contact Tony with the details.
Have a good year gaming and always try to beat the chairman. May your "waiting to be painted models" get seen to this year.
Trevor Pearless (chairman)
