The Zeebrugge Raid on 23 April 1918, St George’s Day, was an attempt by the Royal Navy to block the Belgian port of Zeebrugge. The plan was to sink obsolete ships in the Brugge canal entrance to prevent German U-boats and light shipping, which were a threat to Allied control of the English Channel, from leaving port.

Our game focuses on H.M.S Vindictive, which was to land a force of sailors and Royal Marines on the mole at Zeebrugge to destroy German gun positions. On the day she landed her troops in the wrong location and they took severe casualties; in our game we assume she landed them in the intended location.

Pretty much all of the work was by Phil Richards with some help from all the Little Richards.

We've put up the handouts and display material that were prepared for the game by Andy King and Mark Harris:
