Hit the Beach !

We promised a holiday release, and here it is – and appropriately, it has to do with beaches (vaguely).

We’ve previously previewed several 6mm landing craft of various types, and we even took a few to Colours. Today they hit the website (as well as the beach), along with a couple of others that you haven’t seen before.

The largest is the Air Cushion Tank Landing Ship; this carries either 3-4 MBTs, half-a-dozen smaller APC-sized vehicles or up to a company of infantry on foot (as long as they don’t mind being squeezed in). The vessel is fully enclosed and carries four point-defence weapons.

The other two vessels that we’re already revealed are the Tank Landing Craft, a conventional large flat-bottomed craft that can haul a single MBT or a couple of smaller vehicles. The Infantry Landing Craft is also derived from the LCIs of WW2 vintage but has a fully covered troop compartment to give some degree of protection to the troops inside, and carries a heavy support weapon on the roof to suppress enemy defences on the way in.

The last two vessels in this release are both air cushion landing craft. The Air Cushion Landing Craft is large enough to haul an MBT or a couple of small vehicles in its open bay, while the smaller Air Cushion Infantry Assault Craft can put a platoon of infantry on the beach at high speed. Both have a single Point Defence gun mount.
