On the Seventh Day of Christmas

On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me …
15mm Houses;
15mm scale versions of some more advanced houses; these still have the builders in, so are devoid of doors, windows and more detailing, which is why they look spookily like a construction site. Release date TBD (you know what builders are like !).

UPDATE – this old post still seems to attract a number of referrals from other websites and blogs, so if you’ve come here several years later then you might like to know that these models are in production and available – just click HERE

In the nick of time !

We did promise to try and get some more 2mm buildings out by the end of the sale, and by the skin of our teeth we’ve managed it ! Both the farms and factories are now on the website ready for purchase, with a couple of days to go until the end of the year.

The farms set consists of an assortment of buildings including farmhouses, windmills, barns and oast, while the industrial buildings set has a variety of factories, a pumping station, hydroelectric power station (yes, they had them in the Victorian era), a large warehouse, water tower and various sheds and workshops. The chimneys are interchangeable between the various factories to allow for even more customisation.

On the Sixth Day of Christmas

On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me …
Middle-eastern buildings;
More teeny-tiny 2mm buildings; this time middle-eastern buildings including mosques (with interchangeable minarets) and small forts. Due for release in February.

On the Fifth Day of Christmas

On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me …
Five German tanks !
D5-4 D5-5 D5-1 D5-2 D5-3
Re-designed 15mm versions of the German Thor tank and Lynx APC, with turret variants. Already off for mould-making, and due for release in March.

On the Fourth Day of Christmas

On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me …
Four Desert Buildings
Twin-dome building D2-2 D4-4 D4-3
Additions to our 6mm desert buildings range. We’d have shown you photos of the actual models but, despite ordering ages ago, they’re late … :-(. Release date TBD.

Just three days to go …

A gentle reminder that our Christmas sale has just three days left to run – it ends at midnight (GMT) on December 31st. And it’s a good excuse to put up our picture of Little Miss Santa again …

The response to the sale has, as always, been excellent, so we’re snowed under with orders. We’re working as fast as we can to clear the backlog, so please bear with us.

After that, we’ll be pushing ahead with our rather ambitious release schedule, with new releases across almost every range in the coming year.

On the Third Day of Christmas

On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me …
Three Russian Tanks,
The Neo-Soviet Mech and Volk assault guns and Lisa command vehicle in 15mm. Slated for release over the summer (which is why we’re showing the CG images, we haven’t had them printed yet).

On the Second Day of Christmas

On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me …
Two Flak Towers
Flak Towers
Flak towers for Land Ironclads / Aeronef. Each will take a large turret, the left hand one also has mounts for small secondary turrets halfway down.

The First Day of Christmas

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me …
Some houses from a far-off country.
2mm Scale Mediterranean-style buildings, including church, hotel and traditional moulin for our Land Ironclads range; scheduled for release sometime in February.
Thus begins the 12 days of Brigade Christmas … something new every day. Keep checking back for updates.
Merry Xmas from everyone at Brigade Models.

Elite: Dangerous

And now for something a little different……

If the picture below means anything to you then probably :-

– you’re in your forties

– you’re a little more round in the middle than you would like

– you owned a BBC Micro (or at least like me you had a father who bought one)

– you spent quite a bit of time playing arguably the best computer game ever – Elite

BBC Elite

And the reason for this nostalgic post? David Braben (one of the original creators of Elite along with Ian Bell) has a Kickstarter fundraiser running to enable a new version of this classic game to be produced.

The Kickstarter page is here and contains a lot of information about the game including gameplay videos, concept art and interviews. It currently has 11 days left to go and as I type still needs £313,062 to meet its target.

So what are you waiting for? If you want to re-live your youth then go and pledge some money. If you don’t want to re-live yours or you’re one of those disgustingly young people then pledge some money so I can re-live mine.
