Out in the Colonies

This is Sigma-118 (Ʃ118), a small outpost on the far side of Mars. It’s a standard Arundel Industries design based around modules from their Extensible Colony Base (ECB) system and has been operating for several years without major mishap.

The ECB system allows bases of any size to be constructed quickly – the modules can be flown in by VTOL or shuttle, bolted together and sealed using standardised connector frames and then pressurised ready for occupation.

These new 15mm releases can be arranged in all manner of ways – I had a great deal of fun making various layouts while photographing the models. We’ve created several starter sets which you can use as stand-alone outposts or as the basis for your own setup. Alternatively each module can be bought individually and comes with a metal connector frame (two for the 4-way junction) so you can create custom base layouts. There are also End Frames available to finish any blank dead ends. You can start small with just one or two modules to create a small base or think big and cover the table.
