Roman at Piece of Terrain, our Czech stockist, recently sent us some photos of some of 10mm SF buildings painted and based by Zbyněk “Erebi” Šibal. We thought they were very nice and worth sharing – you can see more photos on the Erebi blog.

Unfortunately for various reasons the last Stoke Rochford gaming weekend had to be cancelled, which meant that the planned Aeronef Jutland refight never happened. However, not to be daunted, the event has been rescheduled for October, with an expansion in scope.
It will run over the weekend of 16/17/18th of October, with bed and breakfast for two nights (Friday and Saturday) and dinner Saturday night for the bargain price of £110. Lunch is available from the bistro bar on both days. For the first time it’s also possible to book a day entry for £5 per day if you are local and don’t want to stay at the hall.
The main event will be the Aeronef Jutland refight, with VSF airships battling it out using historical orders of battle. If you would like to join in but don’t have your own models then they can be provided, or if you would like to contribute towards the forces on the table then let us know and we’ll try to fit you in.
However, with plenty of space and tables available in the conference centre, we’re also inviting gamers to come along and host their own games.
For more details or to book, email Robin Fitton – bligepipe@mac.com – who is coordinating the event.

Keen-eyed readers of John Treadaway’s column in the April issue of Miniature Wargames would have noticed a new model from us which has yet to be seen anywhere else – the 15mm Control Tower. This is a pretty huge new model (over 10″ tall – there are a few infantry by the door to give a sense of scale) which is part of the Colony Base set and is compatible with existing pieces in the range. Given the very limited time remaining before Salute on Saturday (and the fact that I ran out of resin earlier today …), we have only had time to cast a very small number of Control Towers for the show, so if you want one, get to us early !

B15-319 – Control Tower – £40.00
B15-319a – Control Tower (single height) – £35.00

I spent yesterday at the workshop stocking up on our new releases, including the 6mm Mercenaries. I’ve also painted a sample set (as you can see above) and we’re really pleased with the way these have come out.
We will have a number of packs available for the Mercenaries, so today we thought we’d detail the contents.
IC-1501 – Mercenary Army Pack – £35.00
Contains: 12 Sohei (9 with DS gun and 1 each with powergun, gatling and laser); 12 Shaman (9 standard and 3 Firefly); 8 Magnus APC; 4 Legion Rocket Launchers; 3 Wizard Jeep; 48 infantry
IC-1511 – Mercenary Light Tank Company – £8.75
Contains: 12 Shaman (9 standard and 3 Firefly);1 Wizard Jeep
IC-1512 – Mercenary Heavy Tank Company – £14.00
Contains: 12 Sohei (9 with DS gun and 1 each with powergun, gatling and laser); 1 Wizard Jeep
IC-1513 – Mercenary Infantry Company – £11.75
Contains: 8 Magnus APC; 1 Wizard Jeep; 48 infantry
IC-1511 – Mercenary Support Company – £8.75
Contains 4 Legion Rocket Launchers; 4 Warlock Support Tanks; 4 Ontos Tank Destroyers; 1 Wizard Jeep
Most of our Mercenary stock will be concentrated in packs on Saturday; we won’t have a great deal of individual models to sell. The new batch of moulds that we’ve used to produce these new releases are giving us a little bit of trouble – they seem to get hot very quickly and start flashing. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but when you’re trying to churn out lots and lots of models in a hurry it gets very frustrating.
Today is also your final, final chance to get in any pre-orders. I’m casting resin models today and tomorrow is the last day at the workshop casting metal – Friday will be spent packing the van and travelling up to the ExCel to start setting up the stand.
With just three days until Salute, the stock bins are filling up, as you can see from this box of 15mm infantry blisters.

After a couple of queries, we thought it might be handy to detail the exact contents of each pack in the new range, so here goes:
SF15-750 – Riflemen (x8) – £3.00
Eight unique figures as below:

SF15-751 – Support Weapons (x8) – £3.00
Two grenade launchers, two rocket launchers, four SAW gunners (two each of two poses):

SF15-752 – Command Figures (x8) – £3.00
Three troopers with binoculars (two poses), one officer with datapad, four squad leaders (two each of two poses):

SF15-753x – Tripod Weapon plus crew (x2) – £3.00
Two gunners, two loaders, two 2-piece weapons (choice of MG, railgun, tri-barrel or gatling):

SF15-754 – Combat Car Crew (x3) – £1.25
Three combat car crewmen (note that these figures are somewhat smaller than the infantry figures, simply to fit the confined space of the combat car rear deck):

SF15-755 – Rifle Platoon (x32) – £11.00
One officer, three squad leaders, four SAW, two grenade launchers, two rocket launchers, 20 riflemen
Sneaking onto the Salute release list at the last minute are some new SF buildings. These are a new style, constructed of overlapping domes and cylinders – a move away from the Middle-eastern style of the existing desert models.

Five models will be available on Saturday, exact stocks depend on how many more I can cast this week …
B300-401 – Large Domed Building – £2.50
B300-402 – Medium Cylindrical Building – £2.00
B300-403 – Small Cylindrical Building – £1.50
B300-404 – Small Multi-dome Dwelling – £1.00
B300-405 – Small Oval Dwelling – £1.00
A popular model in our 15mm range that has been out of production for a while is the Athena VTOL. This is a transport ship capable of hauling an infantry platoon or small AFV.
Phil has completely remoulded all of the parts and we will have stock available at Salute next weekend. It’s been added to the Salute Sticky page where you can see all of the new items we plan to release.
SF15-111 – Athena VTOL – £17.50

Assuming all goes to plan, this page will list everything we’re planning to release at Salute this year. We’ve made it a ‘sticky’ page, which means that it will remain at the top of the blog until the big day (April 25th) – after which I’ll un-sticky it. It will be ‘live’ page and will be updated as new items appear.
You can find us at stand TH10 – there’s a floor plan on the Salute website to help guide you, we are pretty much in the middle of the hall and not far from the painting competition and command table.
We welcome pre-orders for the show. You can order from the website and pay in the normal way by selecting the ‘Collect in Person‘ shipping option, although you can only order existing models this way and not any of the new releases. To pre-order any new items (or old ones), send us an e-mail. You can then either pay on the day in cash or by card (assuming our new card reader doesn’t have a hissy fit like the old one did last year …) or if you’d like to get your spending squared away in advance then we can send you a PayPal invoice.
So onto the main content of this post, the list of planned new releases. Items which are in italics or which don’t yet have a price are yet-to-be-confirmed. The post isn’t too picture heavy, but if you click on the header text for each category it will take you to other posts that show the models in more detail.
We are still unclear on what we’ll have of the ArmiesArmy infantry ranges, any attempt at casting stock for these is being left until the last minute.
