Research in Miniature

The tale of the airbrush finally reached a conclusion earlier this week, although not before a further frustrating twist. Having decided that no amount of stripping and cleaning would persuade my existing one to function, I bought a replacement on next day delivery. It duly turned up the next day (on a Sunday, no less) … in a smashed box, and missing the little spanner needed for changing the nozzles. The packaging didn’t show any signs of damage so I can only assume it had been packed in that state. So within 20 minutes of arrival it was repacked and sent away for a refund. Another one was promptly ordered (from a different retailer, and cheaper) which arrived (intact) on Tuesday and was pressed immediately into action. All of which means we can finally bring you something new and interesting this week!

Our 15mm Research Base buildings have been some of the most popular we’ve released, so it’s natural that we’d want to produce them in 6mm as well. We have five buildings in this release, including the new (in 15mm) H-Block.

Although we’ve designated them as a Research Base and I’ve painted mine up again as an cold-weather centre in bright orange colours, there’s no reason why they couldn’t be used in other climates or settings. The buildings also make a very good barracks set with their resemblance to Nissen or Quonset huts.
